Heru Prepares Facilities for Smooth Elections

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended a coordination meeting to optimize security readiness for voting and vote counting in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya, together with Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya, at Sahid Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday (1/29).

On this occasion, the Acting Governor encouraged all parties to work together to support the smooth implementation of each stage of the General Election 2024.

"We'll enter the stage of voting and counting votes in the election in 15 days. It is important to understand that this election process is a joint effort to maintain the continuity of the democratic process," he expressed.

According to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government was committed to smoothen the election by providing various supporting facilities.

The facilities provided, starting from the provision of secretariat buildings for the General Election Commission (KPU) and Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), secretariat offices for the Sub-district Election Committee (PPK) and Voting Committee (PPS) in urban villages/sub-districts, logistics warehouses, and venues vote recapitulation, internet network in 44 vote recapitulation locations, as well as support for security personnel at polling stations (TPS) and logistics distribution.

"Efforts to optimize security are important to ensure that every vote is counted fairly and accurately. Of course, it helps prevent potential fraud or other disturbances that could disrupt the smooth process of the voting and counting stages in the Jakarta area," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

He also emphasized several things, such as the importance of synergy between security forces, by placing security personnel at strategic points to increase vigilance and prevent potential disturbances or other threats.

It also involves health workers at the voting and vote counting stages to anticipate tired officers.

He also urged coordination between the KPU, Bawaslu, Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, and other related agencies to be strengthened, to ensure that all stages can run smoothly and in accordance with applicable regulations.

"With this meeting, we will further finalize our preparations in detecting and anticipating all possible threats and challenges during the voting and vote counting process. Together we strengthen synergy to make the election a success as a form of commitment to realizing a successful Jakarta for Indonesia," he closed.
